Subject list - MA
ACOM Subjects are studied in three "Trimesters" of 14 weeks throughout the year.
Most MA subjects require approximately 162 hours to be completed during a Trimester. These hours normally consist of the following:
- 12 sessions (designed for one per week)
- Academic essay (requiring additional reading and research)
- Practical Field assignment (often flexible to fit your context)
- 3 day face-to-face facilitation (optional)
- Integration Assignment (if not attending the facilitation)

Elearning Subject. An introduction to the story and books of the Old Testament with particular emphasis on the context of the Old Testament writings and the application of the biblical text to our contemporary world.

Elearning Subject. An introduction to the New Testament, its books, context, message and keys to interpreting the Bible in its original contexts and applying this interpretation to our contemporary world.

- Church Survey: History of Missional Movements
An introduction to the pivotal missional movements throughout history. This subject assists students to examine missional efforts in their historical contexts, with particular emphasis on people, events, processes and ideas that historically shaped these movements over time.

An exploration of the background and development of the Restoration Movement, which critically influenced the establishment of the Churches of Christ. This subject specifically compares and contrasts the Restoration Movement with other important movements in Church history.

Textbook (additional cost). This subject explores sources of theological knowledge, basic themes of Christian belief, and why and how the Bible can be trusted. This subjects provides tools missional leaders need to engage in sound and thorough theological reflection in today's culture.

- Scriptural Foundations of Mission (E)
Elearning Subject. From the Scriptural evidence in the Old and New Testaments, this subject builds a case for strengthening the missional component in Christian theology, and explores the implications for Christian ministry practice grounded upon a Missional Theology.
Textbook (additional cost). This subject explores the Gospels to discover who Jesus was and how He lived. In doing, this subject explores the story of God's identification with human suffering and sin and His Mission to rescue us from ourselves.

Elearning Subject.
It is highly recommended that this units is taken with a facilitation. This subject extends the communication and preaching compentence and effectiveness of the student and aims to build a greater awareness of the contexts of preaching, in particular in post-modern settings.

Elearning Subject. Textbook (additional cost). This subject looks to Jesus as an example of spiritual leadership, and encourages leaders to be disciples of Jesus who make other disciples.

- Leading Out of Deep Places: Transformational Leadership
In this unit, students will be challenged to develop an intentional strategy for their own ongoing spiritual and personal nourishment as a basis for personal and organisational leadership and transformation.

Textbook (additional cost). This subject lays a firm foundation for spiritual leadership through a deep experience of God's love. The subject also examines what motivates people as a key to transitioning individuals and whole churches towards more effective engagement with the world.
