ACOM's Research
A Message from the Director of Research: Professor Martin Dowson
Welcome to research at ACOM!
The Australian College of Ministries has a long established tradition of excellence in education. We are highly regarded for our innovative approach to teaching, learning and research and our graduates posses skills that enable them to make a significant contribution to the health and growth of the Australian church.
ACOM research students work with, and benefit from, the expertise of internationally recognised academics. ACOM's strong focus on postgraduate training and supervision provides excellent development opportunities for present and future leaders of the Australian church. Our research initiatives and international research focus enables us to address important theological, theoretical and practical challenges for ministry and mission in the 21st century.
ACOM is committed to fostering an environment of excellence in research, intellectual leadership and research training. ACOM encourages and supports innovative multi-disciplinary research which addresses key aspects of ministry and mission in the 21st century, thus contributing to national and international research in these areas.
The development and maintenance of an excellent research infrastructure capability which meets the needs of researchers and research students will continue to be a priority for ACOM. We will also continue to invest in, and foster, a research culture that supports high calibre researchers in the areas of our emerging and established research strengths. Over the coming years we will increase our focus on advanced research training programs that will equip Christian leaders with the necessary skills to deal directly with critical issues and problems relating to ministry and mission in the 21st century.
